John served his farming apprenticeship on the Hunterville hills rising up the ranks to the sought after position of head shepherd on Otairi station when it was in it prime. 

John has managed farms with a wide variety of enterprises including intensive cropping, sheep, beef and horses. His most recent position before joining Agdesign was managing the intensive cropping at Flock house training facility near Bulls.

John and his wife Erin live at Scott’s Ferry near the mouth of the Rangatikei river in New Zealand.  When he is not out in the field with a GPS or at his computer in the office for Agdesign John is managing his asparagus blocks.
